"Irises and Corn" (oil painting)
This oil was painted in the same garden where yesterday's posted painting was done: a public gardening center in Encino, California, where people can rent sectioned off areas to grow flowers and vegetables.
by Lee Gordon Seebach
Everywhere I looked around this garden center, there were amazing ideas for paintings. How could I miss? There were flowers, vegetables, trees, fences, and all types of garden objects, such as scarecrows. It was interesting - and sometimes funny - to walk around and see each individual's personality expressed in what they did with their garden area. I'll always remember one sign a gardener put up in his plot of dirt: "Dick's Back Acher." 😂
I did a plethora of paintings of this center. I even took my outdoor painting class there once. Unfortunately, as sometimes happens, someone has to ruin things. The horrible woman who ran the center came around and basically threw us out for no reason - except that she was a total bitch trying to show us she could throw her weight around.
Have an amazing, productive day, my fellow Steemsters…. to da moon!!!
