"Desert Ironwood Tree"
I enjoy painting ironwood trees. They are very common in the Sonoran Desert, and I found this one near Quartzsite, Arizona.

”Desert Ironwood Tree” 11”x15” (#3335) watercolor on Arches by Lee Gordon Seebach
They grow in interesting ways and I love the texture of their bark.
I hope you enjoy seeing this painting.
More to come,

oooooo....love this!!! Like the curling birch bark on our trees.
Your loose technique and flow makes my detail ocd go crazy...hahaha, so good. I've got to practice letting go, you're a Zen Master of watercolor.
Just work from large to small, the general to the specific, and STOP when you're tempted to explain too much. Leave something to the imagination, and let the viewer finish it in their own minds. Try painting simply and directly, suggest rather than explain. The design is more important than the details. Good stuff, I think. Hope it helps. This book will help: "Hawthorne on Painting" by Charles W. Hawthorne. "The Art Spirit" by Robert Henri is another must-have.
I really enjoy your work, thanks for sharing!
