A SHORT REST

Hello dear friends!
This is my drawing entitled "The Rest".
It is made of coloured aqcuarellabile pencils on gray cardboard.
Rest is something that I don't really know so much.... voluntarily. It's that I always think I can rest as much as I want when I die ; -)
But I have to say sometimes I need it , let's say just before the collapse.... it is the desire to live that gives me this energy, the goal through which it is not possible for me to get lose, the preciousness of time that I don't want to lose because it never returns again!
I'm grateful for every minute I have spent, even for those who were ugly, because I have been able to learn, reappear even more beautiful moments, and feel with my heart the people who have been close to me.
However, even if I rest not so much I sleep very well, just because I gave my best, and knowing that more is not possible, I sleep quietly. I can also sleep on command after twenty-three years of sleep to recover: by train, plane, standing, sitting, in short, when I have time....
I don't doubt that it can harm a bit to my health, but until now my body has not complained, and art is more important than my health, art remains, I don' t ;-))
Returning to the painting: The man relaxes for a moment, but he's not sleeping...... it's just a moment of reflection or inspiration, after which he will rest his arm and the palm of his hand on the ground to get up and continue! He will always rise again, because the day that he will nomore doing this it's because he'll be too weak, but he will keep fighting to try.
The grey background is often welcome for the lights and shadows, because otherwise a light colour would still seem dark and dirty on a white background. while a beautiful dark color would not have a light effect on a black background: the grey rebalances everything.
Unfortunately, despite the fact that it is a logical and simple thing to understand, there are countless important museums that dare to expose the works of the great masters on coloured backgrounds, changing the meaning of the painting. Apart from the fact that the lighting always takes only a part of the painting, being placed in such a way as to send the shadow of the frame on the front of the work, the sculptures are placed on the wall, so that we can't turn around.... I don't say it to complain but because we can really neglect these mistakes :-D

UN BREVE RIPOSO

Ciao cari amici!
Questo è il mio disegno intitolato "Il riposo".
È eseguito a matite colorate aqcuarellabili su cartoncino grigio.
Il riposo è una cosa che conosco poco.... volontariamente. Diciamo che penso sempre che potrò riposarmi quanto vorrò quando sarò morta ;-)
Ma devo dire che ogni tanto ci vuole, diciamo poco prima che crollo .... è la voglia di vivere che mi da questa energia, l'obbiettivo attraverso il quale non è possibile che mi perda, la preziosità del tempo che non voglio perdere perchè non ritorna mai più!
Ringrazio per ogni minuto vissuto, anche per quelli brutti, perchè ho potuto imparare, riapprezzare ancora di più i momenti belli, e sentire con il cuore le persone che mi sono state vicino.
Comunque anche riposando poco dormo molto bene, proprio perchè ho dato il massimo, e sapendo che di più non è possibile dormo tranquilla. Posso anche dormire su comando dopo ventitre anni di sonno da recuperare : in treno, in aereo, in piedi, seduta, insomma quando ho tempo.....
Non ne dubito che possa nuocere un po' alla salute, ma finora il mio corpo non si è lamentato, e poi l'arte è più importante della mia salute, l'arte rimane, io no ;-)))
Tornando al quadro : L'uomo si rilassa per un momento, ma non sta dormendo..... è solo un momento di riflessione o ispirazione, dopodichè appoggierà il braccio e il palmo della mano per terra per rialzarsi e continuare! Si rialzerà sempre, perchè il giorno che non lo farà più sarà già troppo debole, ma continuerà a lottare a provarci.
Il fondo grigio è spesso benvenuto per i chiari e scuri, perchè altrimenti un colore chiaro sembrerebbe ancora scuro e sporco su un fondo bianco. mentre un bel colore scuro non avrebbe un effetto chiaro su un fondo nero : il grigio riequilibria tutto.
Purtroppo malgrado sia una cosa logica e semplice da capire, ci sono infiniti musei importantissimi che osano esporre le opere dei grandi maestri su fondi colorati, cambiando il significato al quadro. A parte che l'illuminazione prende sempre solo una parte del quadro, essendo collocata in modo da mandare l'ombra della cornice sulla parte anteriore dell'opera, le sculture tutto tondo sono messe al muro, in modo che non ci si possa girare intorno.... non lo dico per lamentarmi ma perchè possiamo veramente tralasciare questi errori:-D
