My Next Large Sculpture
Greetings Fellow Humans,
I have recently been notified that I have been selected by Burning Man to be a 2018 Honorarium Artist. What does this mean? It means I have/get to build a giant mechanical horse. It will be about 25% larger than a life size Clydesdale, in the rearing up position. It will have some human powered mechanical movements including front leg kicking, head movements, and if there is enough time and resources, a moving mane and tail. I will be posting progress photos to my blog as I work toward completion of the project over the next several months between now and Burning Man. Here is a picture of the small horse sculpture I made that I am styling the big horse after, as well as two other small horse sculptures I made in the past. Thats going to be amazing! Would love so much to go to The Burning Man festival but i live in the wrong continent! This horse is wonderful. No fire breathing then? An aquaintance of mine from European festivals has a firebreathing, lifesize, metal robotic horse that he can actually ride and you can interact with. Its possibly a bit more eccentric than yours!
