Mechanical Rhinoceros

in #art8 years ago (edited)

Greetings Fellow Humans,

I just finished this rhinoceros sculpture today. It is about 16 inches long, and made from various automotive and agricultural parts, stuck together with my trusty TIG welder. This was a fun piece, I am not sure why it took me so long to do a rhino as they are such an interesting animal.

Strange, today I also have to finish a sculpture of a Rhino, will post a pic later.

Jolly good! 9 out of 10 doctors recommend making rhinos.

Thanks, Glad you like it.

I haven't been able to do any metal work in a while so everytime I see something I like I hope to get my shop up and running again!

Burning man was what pushed me to learn to weld!

Nice, I am a Burner as well! There are few posts about my sculptures for Burning Man on my blog if you haven't already seen them. I hope you get your shop going soon.

No I haven't been on the blog yet but I will check it out. We want to build a sort of multi family homestead with a maker's pace where we have the space to build large sculptures. A bit of an extention of the burn ideology... We'd like to leave a trace though (culturally)

That sounds cool! I look forward to reading about it if you put it on here.

Thanks man. I hope I will find it in me to keep blogging... So far so good
