Painting I made of the Aztec Calendar (Sun Stone)

The source image was made in photoshop, just a photo with some color layers added, to get a basic color scheme.

The painting evolved from that, into its own (more golden and electric) shape. The square chip on the tongue wasn't planned, the idea came well into the painting. Sometimes you have to start and see what happens :)
