The last couple of days I have made a very simple website in PHP to show my own webcomic. All it takes is a server with PHP (most webhotels have that) and a ftp-uploader. No database - it just read what's in the page folder and put up the images. I plan on GPL - the code so if you want to try it I can send you the files.
Thanks for the offer, I'd definitely be interested in taking a look at it! I have to admit that I'm not too code savvy, so I've often grown frustrated in the past with other php based CMS solutions, and all the mySQL Wordpress type stuff. My last couple projects I've just released with plain old html pages crafted in Adobe Muse. I'm currently headed in that direction again but I'm open to changes. I've even seen posts here on Steemit teasing a WordPress plugin that pulls content from the blockchain. It has me curious if it could eventually integrate well with the common Webcomic and Inkblot plugins and make a fully Steem integrated webcomic site. Luckily I still have a few months to figure it all out!
I was thinking a lot of complicated solutions involving the block-chain, wordpress etc. But I was in a hurry so the last week I have made this very simple but reliable site.
All you have to do is put the new page in the page folder, named like this:
001-This is the title.jpg
The site automatically read the first number, put the pages in sequence add the title, displays the page., and add scroll-buttons. There is also an about-page and a support-page, but that is it.
