Pizza Munch | Drawing Tutorial Steps
I just can't get enough of these things.
The is a semi-realistic style color sketch that was an upgrade from a non-colored sketch for Mixley. The non-colored sketch was a monthly reward for him for pledging support to my Patreon. So since this is a color sketch drawing, this will be a little different tutorial as there aren't as many steps to do in this one.

Canvas Prep/Rough Sketch
As always, start off with 4 layers (the list in order that would appear in the layer section):
- Extra Sketch layer
- Fine Sketch layer
- Rough Sketch layer
- Canvas Background layer (neutral color like grey)
I drawing in the rough shapes of the character. Lots of roundness here. :3
Fine Sketch
Then after I got a rough pose of the character, I sketch in a more detailed fine sketch in the fine sketch layer. For the Patreon reward sketch, this would be the last step (with the rough sketch layer turned off of course). But since there is going to be color in this, we're going to continue on from here.
Base/Primary Color
Create a color folder under your fine sketch layer with the following:
- Folder for "Colors"
- Detail Color layer (mask this layer to the base color)
- Base Color layer
After the fine sketch, I add in the character's primary color as a base in the base color layer. Try to keep the color within the sketch as close as you can, it don't have to be perfect. ;)
- Folder for "Colors"
Detail Colors
Once the base color is drawn in, add the detail colors in the detail color layer. Since it don't have to be exactly perfect with the coloring of the colors, they can all be in the same layer over the base. This layer should be masked down to the base color layer.
Misc. Details/Final Check/Final Result
Just add an extra layer (or move the extra sketch layer if you didn't use it) under and outside the color folder. Add in the color for the chair.
Then check over the pic for any missing details and then you're done!
An animation of all the steps taken in the drawing.
Enjoy the pic!

You make it look so easy... I'm quite sure it isn't, though! Anyhow, this was something totally new to me, thanks for sharing it @bleuxwolf! :)
Sure thing and thank you! Well these type of drawings are one of my easier ones. lol
