The Garuda- mural painting making of video /ORIGINAL & free hand painting/

in #art6 years ago (edited)

GARUDA: The Garuda is a large mythical bird-like creature or humanoid bird that appears in Hindu, Buddhist and Bon mythology. The Phoenix is considered to be the contemporary representation of Garuda. In the Buddhist tradition the garudas are enormous predatory birds with intelligence and social organization.

Shang Shung (Zhang Zhung) was an ancient culture and kingdom of western and northwestern Tibet, which pre-dates the culture of Tibetan Buddhism in Tibet. Shang Shung culture is associated with the Bon religion, which in turn, has influenced the philosophies and practices of Tibetan Buddhism. The capital city of Shang Shung was called Khyunglung, the "Silver Palace of Garuda", southwest of Mount Kailash.

In Bon, the Garudas come from the mythical land Tagzig Olmo Lung Ring, a non-dual spiritual realm. It is understood to be a timeless perfected realm where peace and joy are the very fabric of being.
Many Tibetologists and theorists suggest that Kyunglung was perhaps what the Shang Shung people called Tagzig Olmo Lung Ring and the Buddhists Shambhala.

On the outer level, the garuda is a semi-divine creature that is the enemy of the nagas. It is also an important deity of protection. In most cases it represents the element of fire.

In the Dzogchen teachings, the garuda represents our primordial nature. The Dzogchen Tantras, the ancient teachings from which the bardo instructions come, speak of a mythical bird, the garuda, which is born fully grown. This image symbolizes our primordial nature, which is already completely perfect. The garuda chick has all its wing feathers fully developed inside the egg, but it cannot fly before it hatches. Only at the moment when the shell cracks open can it burst out and soar into the sky. Similarly, the masters tell us, the qualities of buddhahood are veiled by the body, and as soon as the body is discarded, they will be radiantly displayed.

This wall painting was a commission work for a martial arts academy.

Thank you, yes sure I accept that.
In total I worked about 10 days. I work only free hand, so there are no tricks used. The hardest part is actually standing on a ladder for so many hours every day and going all the time up and down;)

That's awesome!

This is gorgeous. I love it. You're so talented @bella-volen-art, I'm glad I found your blog!

Thank you very much dear @chorigirl;)

My dear, you have been for longer on steemit. Do you know why sometimes blog posts are gone like mine here? It was a mural video of mine and I just see that the post is gone, only the comments are left. I don't understand why. Thank you very much for your answer in advance.

Wow. When you added the shadows under the scales, it gave me chills haha, this is so satisfying to watch, the colors are vivid and rich I love it !! I saw yu are working free hand so you you are not using a projector ? So always taking a step back from the wall to check the proportions while drawing ?
Thank you for sharing this ! Cheers !

Congratulations. This post is featured in today's Muxxybot Curation post.
