🎨 📸 Original ART, ⭐️ The DRAGONFLY ⭐️ /bodypainting / photography & MEANING/
Hello, dear online explorers, here I would like to share an artwork created on the most beautiful canvas to paint on: the human skin. The work was created at Ozora Festival in the August 2015. I would like to tell you a bit more about the meaning of the dragonfly.
The dragonfly has been a subject of curiosity in every single area it is found in. Each culture has created a different meaning to it and its origin. The Samurai used it as a symbol of power, agility/vitality and victory. In China, it was associated with prosperity, harmony and as a good luck talisman.
Because the dragonfly eats from the wind itself is has been seen as a sign of happiness, speed and purity amongst Native Americans.
The most common symbol it represents is change, transformation in terms of self-realization. The change has its source in mental and emotional maturity and the understanding of the deeper meaning of life.
The Dragonfly belongs to the family of Odonata (an order of carnivorous insects). The word Dragonfly has its source in the myth that Dragonflies were once Dragons.
Here you can see a small video. It helps to understand that this is not a post-production artwork;)
The dragonfly’s lively flight shows an ability to fly in all six directions. In terms of meaning, this is connected with age and maturity.
The dragonfly can move at 45 miles an hour and hover like a helicopter. It has also rare qualities like the hummingbird to fly backwards. It can also fly straight up, down and on either side.
The family name Odonata comes from the Greek word for a tooth as Odonates were believed to have teeth, it is a verified fact now that they have only strong mandibles they use to crush their meal victims.
The Germanic tribes believed that the dragonflies would help the goddess Frigg (the beautiful Queen of Heaven) to come into contact with ancient souls. The Celts describe the dragonflies as small, flying dragons, which were used by fairies and elves as transportation.
The dragonfly brings lightness and ease, silence and calmness, fast overcoming of obstacles in life.
I wish you a fantastic day/night.
With love & light

wonderful, magnificent, breathtaking... no word powerful enough to describe this ! And dragonflies, I have always loved them ! I'm really in love with this post ! thank you so much !
Hello;), very sweet of you. I just looked at your profile and loved what I see. I am following you and curious to find out more. I also love Tai Chi.
thank you sooo much for your attention, dear Great Artist ! I'm honored.
Truly amazing. What kind of paints are used?
Hi and thank you. When working on skin one can use ONLY special bodypainting colros. Every other kind of paints can damage the skin. I use professional bodypainting colors, they are very different from the carnival small bodypainting products one can get at party stores.
Amazing. Body paint art like this blows me away! Following.
Thank you, dear, Seth for your words.
Wie immer grossartig!
Danke liebe Caroline;)
Wonderful painting! She looks like an indigenous alien :))
Hello;), well that is a great combination, I love indigenous tribal cultures and aliens too;))). I am just always trying to do something of my own, bold colors, tribal, but modern, a bit on the edge of time & space;)
Wow, that looks really cool. I love the colour contrast against the browns.
Thank you my dear;). I hope you are thinking about our project<3
its great my dear bella ! i enjoy watching your works ,
also East Asian texts look at it as the source of power, happiness, and peace
Thank you beautiful Adele. These places in Asia have so much history & something mysterious, I truly love them. There are not many people, who would enjoy my company on an Asian trip because I am taking photos of every interesting element. The next post about Thailand will be for my favorite temple. I am so glad I took many photos before as well, now it has been reconstructed and all the glory of the past was turned into a sugar look.
thats great , :) i really love temples
, i showed this video to my mother she liked it also :) <3
I love it! Totally thought it was a painting at first.
