THE AMATEUR ARTISAN

Teddy Tightwad was a most wealthy man,
But he refused to pay money to hire an artisan,
His own repairs he would effect,
And many a D.I.Y job he had wrecked!

Plumbers have, within their group,
Those who charge hugely for handling poop.
Where a side effect is methane gas,
Which is all too combustible, yes, alas!
Methane gas, as all should know,
Causes problems, when left to freely flow.
A sewer pipe can become a bomb!
Should such gas be ignited, with some aplomb.

The job in question, involved a sewer pipe,
Now blocked up tight, what a gripe!
Teddy went to every end,
To employ a device known as the Plumber’s Friend.
The Plumber’s Friend, the blockage to clear,
As it wriggled up the sewer pipe, no fear.
To provide the key to access success,
He removed the “S” bend. Oh, what a mess!
Liquid of a most questionable kind,
Ran all over the floor, an awkward find!
Now, the “S” bend that he so deftly removed.
Kept methane gas at bay, in a manner approved.
Now that gas did ooze and seep,
From distant sewer pipes in the deep.

Teddy considered the whole matter a joke,
Frustrated, he paused to have a smoke!
As soon as he did ignite a match,
A methane gas explosion. What a powerful batch!
It served him right, for, as a wealthy man,
He had the funds to employ an artisan!
