On attaining the Presidency, he made “sweeping changes”.
How astonishing, such order of rearranges.
You’d think there would be more important changes than “sweeping”.
Would he fire the janitor, leave him weeping?
Generally the Cabinet was the front of new action,
The “Secretary for Sweeping” quickly placed in traction.
The new President had won a “landslide” victory.
A most precarious mode to conduct political trickery!
Landslides as we all know,
Roar down a mountain, never slow!
Actually, now-a-days a landslide may comprise but a few votes.
As voters choose the least worst candidate by auto rotes.
Politics, for scoundrels, the refuge last,
A ticket to power, if all else is aghast!
Monosyllabic, a politician rarely is,
Always concerned to make believe he is a whiz!
Self-serving, self-absorbed, it’s all about self,
Not self-demeaning, as one might expect from an elf!
Unlikely, it is, an elfish defection,
So, one must sadly await a General Election.
There-upon, a landslide victory, there won’t be!
Perhaps an avalanche of reflective sobriety?
In Italy the government has fallen and a rather racist and overbearing type is expected to be the winner.
