A must visit the Ili-likha artist village in Baguio City!- Creative Idea it is!

“I loved to recycle things like broken tiles and I chose IliLikha as the name because it means, village of makers” Tahimik said.

Hi dear Steemians, I hope everyone is doing great! I simply want to share some of the photos I captured alongside the street from City of Pines that caught my attention. This post is late actually, this was taken during independence day and this is how I spent my holiday.

Despite of the rain continuously falling, I insisted to go out with my sister to stroll around the city and supposedly to visit "Museo De Cordillera" but alas, the museum was closed due to power interruption. We got disappointed, but the day isn't over yet so we proceed to walk around the city until this old tree house got our attention. Noticeably to the entrance has its beautiful craft of sculptures sitting outside and sorts of art that got pique our curiosity instantly. Random thoughts came up, then suddenly a young lady invited us to get in and just roam around.

Ili-likha - ili is a Kankanaey word means "village" and likha is a tagalog word means "create"

This excellent tree house was opened in 2014, Ili-Likha Artist Village’s concept came from the owner, film director and writer, Eric de Guia, commonly known as Kidlat Tahimik. An establishment that was built around the tree located at assumption road, Baguio City.

Some part of the house is currently under refurbishment and not fully finished, but notwithstanding, the place makes me awe with the aesthetic crafts that was exhibited. I was amazed because I thought the place is narrow as what my imagination pictured outside, however, it has this extension where they dish up food. There's also this little bridge that you demand to cross going to a mini movie theater. The theatre's chair, walls and floor are built out of wood. Simple and small but astounding. The theater was composed of two floors, up and down (I took a picture for you guys 😊) I feel like a time machine transported me back in the past generation. (Ha-ha, kidding aside, but that's what I imagined).

Hence I continued to roam around, most of the crafts are made of woods, they also have splendid paintings hanging on the walls. They are indeed a great masterpiece! But sadly, some parts of the house are not yet opened but I'm sure it will be going to be a great place once it will fully furnish. Some parts of the walls and art pieces are made of recycled materials- trunks, wine glass, broken pieces if windows which make it more wonderful. This is absolutely a brilliant art sanctuary and I think this is the perfect chance to educate visitors about Baguio City's finest.

I was considering that I should come to this place once it is completely renovated, in that way I could try all they feature and update it again. It was beautiful, even though it was not done until now so I'm sure they have so much to offer once completely done.
