Detailed Wood Carvings of Mystical Creatures
Thought I'd share these photos of mystical creatures. I saw these carvings on the way to the book store. The detail is amazing. I can't imagine how long it took to carve these huge statues. I don't know the kind of wood used.
Can anyone tell me what they are?
This first photograph could be of Treebeard of the Ents from J. R. R. Tolkien's fantasy world Middle-earth which were also in The Lord of the Rings. It could also be a Treant from World of Warcraft.

This type of craftsmanship always amazes me. I consider myself to be a fairly handy guy, but i can't even imagine having the skill and vision to create something like this! Thank you for sharing.
