Getting more impact for your website

in #art8 years ago

Why continue struggling, when you can use a few secret subtle twicks to make your website popular big time.

On the internet there are many tips on how to make your website predominant and your blogs trend. And some of that is transcribed for artists to make their websites more popular. So I won’t dwell on or plough through all those standard facts. But rather I will give additional advice that will surpass all that.

Food for thought:

If you are anything like me, you will ponder on and soak up the hints written between the lines. Often the simplest statements can be the most profound, that trigger-off ‘Wow’ moments and spark-off new concepts and opportunities.

Clickbait:

It’s not what you are saying, but how you say it.

  • It’s how you put together your words and sentences. That they ether appeal or they’re rejected. Whether they are your titles, headlines or subtitles, or just your content, phase and string your words together in such a way that it makes people sit up and take instant notice. Dramatic statements and catchy `cheeky’ remarks make the most impact. But you must follow up on what you have wet people’s appetite with.
  • To get the most attention, consider who you are dealing with and what their most urgent concerns are and lean on those facts. So your titles and subtitles make direct contact with their inner needs.
  • Also consider people’s concentration and patience span is limited. People today are so very busy and haven’t time to dwell on subtle dribble. So say how many short easy steps it takes to achieve a particular goal.

Gathering and using hashtags, tags or keywords:

  1. Build a personal list of keywords on what’s trending. And grade and group it according rating value on Google Trends. So you can select and compose with the most highly rated keywords. This also makes it easier and quicker to find the most appropriate keywords for what you want to say.
  2. Then when you do assemble a blog, make a separate list. Gather string and arrange the keywords to make up your title and subtitle. Added to that, consider catchy phrases to pull, not only artists, but the general publics’ attention to your website. Not an easy task I must say if your topic isn’t trending. But how you do it is important, if you want to give your blog more power out there!

Additional keywords:

Also use keywords that are trending on popular websites. Not necessary keywords for titles only, but can be inserted in your content. But none the less describe what’s in your painting or about the things you see on your travels. For example:

  • Names of places people have heard so much about, would like to visit or see someday or seeking accommodation for a holiday,
  • Names of herbs that are used to lose weight, for health reasons or ingredients found in recipes,
  • Names of flowers, plants and trees people are generally looking for on gardening tip sites,
  • Sport terms that suggest the taking of action,
  • Sensational inspiring words that stimulate emotion and enthusiasm,
  • Words that give hope of achievement and success.

In the case of Steemit, there is a list of keywords or tags provided for you. But remember your Steemit blogs can also be found through Google. So trending SEO keywords still matter! My advice is to use Steemit keywords AND Google SEO keywords, in your Steemit blog. This also has the effect of drawing more people to Steemit and what Steemit provides.

Proof: With my last Steemit blog (in the art category) I tested this theory out by using other keywords that weren’t listed on Steemit or Google SEO. And guess what, there wasn’t much response. Even though the subject was a powerful one, on how to create images that make very influential first impressions when people first arrive at your website.

Popular people participate:

You will notice in any congregation or club meetings there are always a few people who stand out and are very popular socially. While others complain that they’re ostracized or overlooked.

  • Winners and leaders are not shy to step forward and participate in whatever is happening. They generally sit in the front row so they can hear everything that is said. They are willing to learn new things and share their knowledge.
  • While losers sit back and mumble between themselves. And where will you find them? Usually in the back row or outer fringes! No one knows what their talents are and they avoid participation wherever they can.

Constant blog participation:

You will notice on Steemit those who post most often get the most recognition and power. So it is with art websites… they need to post more often too, to get more attention.

  • Most bloggers just borrow a photo or two to put in their blogs. And their content is mostly ferreted from other sources.
  • But artists have to do more than that. Because their sites are all about art, they also have to spend additional time on thinking up and creating impressive art.
  • And because most sites post regularly, artists find they post about once or twice a week, because of their extra workload of painting or videoing their images. Having said all that, artists who do run popular websites frequently, must have such profound energy, powerful minds and determination next to none!!

So what do they do to get it right?

Paint smaller paintings.

  • Prepare additional stuff in advance for when they are away doing location, etc.
  • They are go-getters. They do fieldwork, gathering image material while travelling or on holiday with family. So they have a stock of things to paint and use in their blogs.
  • They keep records and list of interesting and informative things they want to talk about. Making it easier to think up stuff and construct comprehensive facts on short notice.
  • And the lucky ones have staff or partners to do the mundane jobs, to take the extra load of work off their hands.

Conclusion: The right keywords, tags and clickbait words are like this cucumber vine, they link and connect with others, sharing valuable information and much needed skills and hope.

My next Steemit post:

I intend talking about content. Artists have a limit theme to project at first glance. But if the artist thinks big time and considers all the factors an artist experiences, there is no end to what they can continue to inspire everyone out there.

If people had to take time out, they would realize artists are the ones who have the greatest impact. Who design billboards, packaging labels, commercial images in magazines, etc for one thing!

Pleasure. Hope it has been of some help.
