RE: Mexican Murals - Four Sides of a Water Box

in #art5 years ago

Holey Moley - we're just gonna call you the Mural Man from now on. Most or all of these murals are painted by Mexican people? Or by foreigners living in Mexico? How much do you delve into the "who painted this and why?" Curious.

Well, as far as I can tell, all these artists that I mentioned in this post are Mexicans. Whenever I can, I like to identify, mention, and link the artist, but sometimes one or the other is not possible. Once I'm on their website, or even on their facebook, instagram, etc. page, it's usually a trip down the rabbit hole of other works by the same person, or other artists they collaborated with, locations of their murals, other types of art they do, and their personal histories. It's all super interesting, and I could easily expand on this project, by traveling to their murals... though in a way that would make me feel like cheating. What I enjoy most, is coming across awesome wall paintings by chance, and maybe recognizing one artist or another... though this hasn't happened so far. That's how many muralists there are. Well, granted, the CDMX is a pretty big city.
