Thank you for pointing that out. Yes the challenge is for beginners in portrait drawing. They could be anyone, including artists who never attempted portrait sketching/drawing.
I did that looong time ago is good excercise for your hand and your mind to coordinate so am not partecipating to leave the chance to others!! good luck EVERYBODY!! @coloringiship do challenges for intermediates :P still I have half the tool you mentioned but I like to try :D

well then here is my tip in case you don't know yet..
tools needed:
technique:
rotate the tip of the pencil against the razor untill you get a fine graphite powder
play with it :)
this is great for soft shadows and noises..the more you press it with your finger the more dense will the shades be and viceversa
this is one of many techniques that I find fun to use but be ware this can eat away ur pencil :p
