Art Time: Nurturing Creativity and Child Development Through Arts
One of the things I love to do with my children is arts. You may notice that as we share @divinekids works here at steemit from time to time.
Arts, for me is very important in a child's development. It not only nurtures creativity but also imagination, motor skills, decision making, etc. It is also a fun way to learn new things and discover oneself.
For us, Saturday is mostly our Arts day. We sit down around our small dining table and start scribbling away, whatever comes to our minds.
Sometimes, Little Miss wants to just plainly write or like last Saturday, she had Pac Man in mind. Actually, it was the ghost in the pacman game that she wanted to draw.
She drew this one in just less than a minute I think. She picked up the color pens and with sure strokes, drew this cute ghost. I love how at 4 years (she just celebrated her 4th birthday last June 19), she can already draw from just her imagination. See here, we shared one of her Saturdays too.
While here below is another set of ghosts she drew.
After sometime, I drew some fruits - apples and grapes and she decided to draw her own version too.
She really surprises me all the time since she is not yet in school so the only time she would draw is when I am with her.
For me to make a wonderful drawing, I need to have a reference. But this, she also drew just from her mind again.
Do you wonder why the grapes are green not purple as they are normally depicted in books? Here's what Little Miss has to say:
Because we eat green grapes!
Oooppsie! I forgot to take a picture of my drawing. Will share them after some time perhaps.. (if it is of any worth. Lol)
Kuya on the other hand got busy with these blocks.
Blocks are another great tool to engage children and keep their hands and mind busy. They love to see their output and describe their beautiful creation.
Little Monster also loves to play with these blocks.
Apart from the blocks, Kuya also drew the theme of the day, which is Pacman alongside one of his favorites from the Plants vs Zombies game- The Pea Shooter.
Kuya for me is also a good little artist. He just needs a small nudge from time to time because he seems to have less interest in drawing. Hence I always tell stories about how I loved to draw when I was a kid his age and even show him some ideas.
Arts and Children
Art as a form of self expression should know no age limit. Children can develop a lot of aspects of their personality through arts and we as parents must encourage it.
We must find their interest and tap that ability so they can harness and improve it as they grow.
Oh! And yeah, don't forget to shake those excess energy with some action songs afterwards. 😉

I totally agree on you here.. my daughter also is crazy about creating stuff , guess she has that from her mother. It's so cute to see her busy and making her own arts :)
I am really at awe at what this child can do... now it's upon me to keep on encouraging her. 😊
We gotta set them good examples to them, right.. some talents may be inherent but we still need to give a slight nudge...
Thanks for passing by! ❤
Yes and it's fun too to encourage them right?
I love these kind of arts too.. made an account where I present my daughters (2 year old) artworks.. because this way it will never get lost.. because sometimes these artworks get lost or maybe get damaged.. I love that I can keep track of her progress the next years.. so fun to look back in some years..
Have a great weekend!
