¡Hello friends!

This time I decided to illustrate baby groot, and that is to see Avengers infinity war, I needed to vent a little illustrating my favorite character. For a moment I thought about drawing thanos but the tenderness of groot made me change my mind.

This is my first work taken to digital as part of my learning process (when I sit down to experiment to see it come out), using illustrator Cs5. It has taken me a few hours since little by little I had to go testing what was working for me or not. As you will see I am a beginner in this, so any comments or criticism that you want to leave me would be of great help to me. What I have learned so far has been with tutorials and a few recommendations from friends.

So...

The procedure

Sketch in pencil

To begin it is necessary that you make one, so you will have a clear idea of what you want. Creativity, paper, pencil and to work!

A few days ago they left me here a comment that is important to sign your work, that is true enough... Do not forget.

Color test

This is optional, because the color you are going to give it when you digitize it. I like to do it to file it in my portfolio, but it's your decision whether you want to do it or not.

Groot descends from a race of walking flora and resembles a sensitive tree. ...

For him, I used brown, green tones for the leaves that leave his body (trunk), black and white to create depth and lights.

From pencil to digital

Used program: Illustrator Cs5

With the pen I was tracing the sketch made previously in pencil.
During the whole procedure what I did was create each part of the groot body with the thinnest line that I could obtain with this tool.
Once I had a large part of my body, I simply filled it with color.
Also I did with the eyes, eyebrows, arms, hands and all the details to make it look like a "trunk".
While I was moving forward, I made sure to group each part already ready.

To finish, I continued with the details of the lines on his face that simulate being the cracks, I added the leaves that come out of his body and some fine white lines to make it more nice.

Without forgetting my signature at the end...

¡Baby Groot is ready for a new adventure!
