I really enjoy looking for the types of lichens in different trees whenever I can. If I find a tree with red lichens, it's like jackpot to me since it's a very picky lichen in regards to air purity!
Great job with all these paintings, you certainly put some detail and care on rendering trees I rarely see artists do!
Thank you @anatropeiro, i love lichens too! With some of my work I have the tree as the subject rather than a background feature, so i spend as much time painting it as i would a portrait. They fascinate me, particularly the older, more gnarly ones.
