Spring Tease

Bands of sunlight and cloudshade
Chase each other across grassy fields
Unbearable
White light followed by bland shadow

Gasping ice wind tumbles birds
Stillness sings

Playing hide and seek
Forests of dead, brown oak
Spotted with pink and white fruit trees

Spring, when will you give way to the consistency of Summer?
