Yes, the whole stone painting trend took off about 4-5 years ago when a pilot program in the city of Port Angeles, Washington was created to get families out to use the public green spaces more: "paint a rock, hide it in the park post a picture to the Facebook group!"

Well, the idea went viral... five years later there are more than 800 rock painting communities with more than 500,000 participants around the world!
