Rough edges - A 2017 Compilation!
Hey guys!
Today I compiled the images from my Rough Edges series which I had started about a year ago. To be honest, some are definitely missing from these but I think the rest are enough for today :)
What did I learn from this?
I started this series where I challenged myself by completely avoiding pencil and eraser and using only pen. ( ball pen preferably ). It was like rekindling my love for ball pen sketching since school times. It boosted my confidence to whole new levels & enabled me to directly lay down my ideas on paper without much hesitation.
A lot of us struggle with expressing whatever is on our mind. Now I am not saying that I have become a pro at this, if anything I am a long way from reaching those heights right now. But my point is that I do not stress about erasing something before actually even creating it. (Erasing multiple times was a major issue with me, especially while trying to make portraits.)
I have started embracing imperfection. I was someone who needed my strokes to look in a perfect way which sometimes served as a BIG restriction, but after doing this I actually learned how to improvise along the process! I felt that sometimes you don't need to think too much, you know, just allowing the hand to freely flow like your imagination is very important too!
Here I made the circles with compass & a pencil before locking it down with pen.
I hope you enjoyed them, some of you must have seen them already but for those of you who haven't, I would love to read your reviews! Let me know if you guys have also experimented with things like these and how they helped you? After all it's about finding YOUR style! :)
Keep Creating
Lots of Love <3
WOW. extraordinary drawings. you really are a talented painter. I like your technique very much. I am very amateur but I just shared a drawing. I think it would be happy to get your comment!

Means a lot! Thank you so much :)
You are a real artist, i just love your work. I recognize myself in the dare to leave the eraser alone feeling, with a pen You can't erase and have to trust on your talent. Keep going! XOXO
Try it some day, it's great fun :)
@aishwarya I take my words back.
You don't need to continue the degree and waste time just for a backup.
Your sketches are amazing :)
Loved these :D
I won't lie, I am actually happy to read this.
Thanks for the support too! :)
@aishwarya I didn't know any better when we first met and this post changed it all :)
Really happy you remembered the context of this comment :D
Of course, why not :)
Umm because you were bombarded with questions from all sides that day specially "When and how did you found about steemit?" :D
Hahah damn!
I don't know why one feels they have imperfections but your imperfections are the real you. We are known by our very own imperfections, they might be good or bad. But it is us. I am glad you have started to love them. There is no one perfect around here except for God. So why to worry. You put your Heart b soul in your art. You almost have depicted your things, again I won't day imperfections here. But it's amazing and beautiful. Stay amazing :)
I am glad you got the point of it all. I have finally understood my way that it is not about perfection at all. Thank you so much for your feedback :)
U don't need any feedback.. stay blessed :)
I always appreciate it :)
You too!
Very very cool. You move within style like a multi shaded b&w muse with your pen work...are you a dancer or just like to dance with your pen or both?....I'm a Ballerina with with oil pastels as ballet shoes...
Thank you for the artistic eye nutrition ~*
