Ballerina
This painting turned out to be completely different than what was planned. I was using a picture of a ballerina dancing with white mist behind her on stage. But midway it started looking like a dance in the moonlight with the stage having no audience, in fact a dance for the universe! I don’t know it’s just my interpretation. The skirt was a little tough to paint given the harsh brown background. I used ink for the blues and gouache for the rest of the colors.
Gouache works really well on this paper when used with a more opaque consistency as water gets absorbed awfully fast. I am trying another one immediately after writing this haha. Anyway, I like the slightly dreamy and isolated feeling in this one. I would love to know what you guys think!

An incredible piece. The flash of light and her white gown made the work look sparkling.
