Heads from different shapes.

A short and sped up sketching session, where the intention was just to play with different basic shapes to help create different characters or exaggerations.

You can start with a circle and look for marks that help positioning other details, such as the chin, nose or cheekbones. The example in the video was left as a stored puppet, honestly just for fun.

The girl came from the idea that her triangular face made me think of a horror story, so I sketched her as a woman that needs a candle to see maybe I'll go back to the idea and give her a story.

The next one just made me think of a child happy to have something in his hands and sitting on the ground enjoying his little treasure.

Once you have tried to use the ball, the triangle and the square to make a head, you should try to combine them in order to create a more realistic character or to help you draw a portrait.
