HOW TO DRAW A CROWNED SKULL WITH INK
Hello my Steemian friends!
Today I want to present to you a crowned skull, sketched with a Tutto3 Mechanical Pencil and drawn with a Montegrappa Crowned Skull fountain pen, broad nib, and ink. So much fun!
First I sketched it with pencil, got the paper wet (I was using a Winsor & Newton watercolor paper pad), and gave it a layer of ink on the wet paper (it was Montegrappa fountain pen ink, which is water soluble), leaving the area in the middle with almost no ink, while painting the surroundings dark.
Then I went over the pencil outline with a fountain pen, shading with hatching and cross-hatching.
With fresh water and an oriental brush, I went over the areas where I wanted to achieve a painterly effect, by dissolving the ink.

All the best,
