Aromatherapy Steem: Mountain Lavender
Everybody knows the scent of mowed grass....the compound that is responsible for this is called 'coumarine' - the grass uses it to warn her fellow plants for danger.
There are many different coumarines in plants and the ones in the peel of citrusses react with sunlight and can cause skin burns.
But there are 'the good ones ' too: the coumarines that are produced by mountain lavender are very, very soothening on the central nerve system and this makes this high grown lavender an excellent choice for treatments before scary events, like exams or games.
This high alltitude is one of the demands for a lavender oil to get an AOC connotation in France.
Mountain lavender smells a bit 'hayish' when compared to other lavenders, due to the small amount of coumarine. Its actually quite a hypnotic scent....

The internal use of essential oils shoud not be done without guidance of a certified aromatherapist - there are health risk to it.
