About unusual bas-reliefs

I took these photos last summer and left them for the future. I wanted to supplement my story with photos from the main staircase of this house. But time passes, and I still have not visited the main staircase. Therefore, I made a compromise decision: to publish ready-made photos right now, and continue the story about this house when I will have additional materials.

This house is located on the corner of Third Soviet Street and Bakunin Avenue. The third Soviet street was called the Third Rozhdestvenskaya street before the revolution. The name of the street comes from the Church of the Nativity of Jesus in the Sands (Rojdestva Hristova na Peskah). The church was destroyed in 1934, but now it is restored. Bakunin Avenue was also renamed after the revolution. But this street did not have a sustainable name, it was renamed many times in tsarist times.

The apartment building on the corner of these streets was built by the architect M. Kvart in 1910-1911 in the Art Nouveau style. It was never rebuilt, but externally changed no less than the names of streets. Much of the architectural decor has been lost. From a distance, this house looks as if it was built much later; it has become similar to the houses of the constructivism era. But if you look closely, you can see unusual bas-reliefs. The bas-reliefs with playing children are located not only on the walls of the building, but also inside, in the main staircase. I want to take some pictures of them in order to complete my story.
