WINTER POST CARD FROM ROBIDIŠČE SLOVENIA (architecture)
ROBIDIŠČE
If you know the place you probably have been there in hot summer days. What about visiting the village on the boring winter Monday? :) Well, I did it. So I can share with you some of the photos I have made.
ABOUT THE VILLAGE
The village of Robidišče is the most Western point of Slovenia (before Yugoslavia). If you’ll visit it you will really feel like going back to the past.
Old Venetian Architecture, houses constructed from stone, that was brought there by the inhabitants. Not much changed from that times. Just a few local older people still living there now.
A nice initiative to put photos of the old Robidišče on the walls of renovated houses, so walking around this place feels like visiting the museum.
This photo shows the interior of the old Venetian house. The smoke kitchen represents how the people lived here hundreds years ago. You can see black walls and some simple kitchen equipment.
As you can see, the landscaping, mountains, nature everything is beautiful. And few people that still leave there will give you a warm welcome too.

In the summer time the place has become really popular. People have renovating houses, offering BB and rooms, you can rent apartments, they have a local organic farm with restaurant and bar operating in summer. Here you can really relax, untouched nature, mountains, and valley of riverNadiža. All together creating an unique summer destination. That is why many tourists from many countries all around the Europe and the World are returning. They have discovered a rare pearl. But don’t worry the place is not overcrowded with tourists. You’ll still be able to enjoy your peace.
