Tinbeerwah House

in #architecture8 years ago

This contemporary family home is located in the backcountry of Noosa, Australia. It has been designed as a glass pavilion covered with sliding wooden screens.
Designed by Teeland Architects, the rectangular residence opens onto the landscape with views of the bush, the ocean and the sky. By designing it as an elongated one-space rectangle, all rooms can benefit from cross-ventilation, natural light, and views of the Pacific Ocean. Owners have the ability to control the exterior screens to adjust privacy and views. When temperatures drop, the screens can open to let the sun in to warm up. Then during the summer, they can be closed to provide shade without disturbing the views.
