Remarkable Achitecture of Saint -Sernin (No filter)
I was in awe when I visited this Basilica of Saint-Sernin in Toulouse, France which is under UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The architecture was more of a Romanesque of the 4th century. It housed the body of Saint Saturnin or Sernin, who is the first bishop of Toulouse. At that time I was visiting, they were doing restoration on the rear of the Basilica. It was indeed an amazing visit..

Amazing ceiling and columns. It is impressive how they design churches and build them.
That's why I love old building its has its own character and appeal.
That and temples. When we went to Yangon there were lots of temples there what we went to and it is just surreal to walk among and in those ancient structures.
Yes.. temples too. You should check out Siem Reap and Borobudur too... they are awesome. Yangon is in my bucket list will do it in the near future
I've seen Borobudur and Prambanan. It was surreal walking among these ancient temples. It would have heavenly if we saw this during sunset/sunrise. I didn't do much research when we went there so I didn't know we can visit the temples during those times. We went for sunrise watching during our visit in Bagan but it was an overcast morning. I have yet to see Siem Reap.
Been to the sunrise for Borobudur but didn't go to Prambanan for sunset. I couldn't explain it with words for the sunrise experience but it was amazing. Mother nature and man made structure are the perfect combination. You must go to Angkor Wat, Siem Reap for sunrise.. I'm ecstatic by the thought of Bagan...definitely will find time for visit. Wanted to try the hot air balloon but one needs to have a fat purse for it.
I agree with you. When we were in Bagan, even though the sun was barely there, the feeling is inexplicable knowing that the same sun has been rising and setting among the temples of old. Just the thought of being there is mind blowing. Feeling those stones roughened by time and history is I can say electric. Just the site of Shwedagon in Yangon made me ecstatic and to finally be there is like heaven - what with all the gold!
