The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Rosary

If you ever find yourself exploring Manizales, Colombia in your near or distant future and take a walk in the central part of the city then you will not miss this massive Catholic Church, which is the largest one in all of Colombia. Standing at about 106m in height and actually designed by a frenchman known as, Julien Polti.

You probably see a large monument of a man/bird to the right of the Cathedral. That is known as the Bolivar Condor and is a representation of the famous liberator, Simon Bolivar. It is quite the site and is considered to be quite controversial when it was completed in 1986. This was due to its audacity and magnificence, which strayed away from the conventional Simon Bolivar monuments that were more historically standard and the static coldness of typical monuments to this great liberator of Colombia and South America.

I must apologize that I actually do not have photographs from inside the church and you can actually climb to the tallest tower of the church - However, when I was exploring and walking around inside the church their was actually a service occurring and it felt somewhat quite disrespectful to start walking around taking photos whilst I service was in session. Hence, I must return in order to show you all the beautiful details that you find inside of this huge cathedral.
