Buildings of Bucharest: Bucharest Financial Plaza

I continue my series about modern building of Bucharest with the Bucharest Financial Plaza, one of the first modern towers of the country.

Formerly known as the Bancorex Tower, the architecture of the 83 meters tall building is very controversial, as its location on the historical Calea Victoriei is considered inappropriate for the vicinity of the protected CEC Palace, a masterpiece of the architect Paul Gottereau, from 1900.

Bucharest Financial Plaza was built in 2007, as the headquarter of a bank that soon after the opening went bankrupt, but the building was saved and became the headquarter of another commercial bank.
