Architectural photography: Don´t miss these places when in Prague

in #architecturalphotography6 years ago (edited)

One of my favorite views of the Prague Castle, the most iconic landmark of the city and the largest castle in the world. These days when the weather is nice, there is a huge traffic on the river as you can see in the photo.

This is also my entry for today´s #architecturalphotography contest organized by @juliank and @photocontests.

Front view of the Church of Our Lady Before Tyn, one of the dominants of the Old Town Square, Prague. Built from the mid-14th to the early 16th century, the magnificent cathedral also serves as an extensive gallery of Gothic, Renaissance and Early Baroque art works.

Side view of the famous Slavia Coffee (Kavarna Slavia in the Czech language). Located right on the bank of the Vltava River in the center of Prague, facing the National Theatre, the Slavia Coffee has always been very popular among some of the greatest Czech personalities such as politicians, artists, writers etc. It was also the favorite coffee of the former Czech president Vaclav Havel.

Close-up of a statue in front of the St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. Founded as early as in circa 930, the St. Vitus Cathedral is a majestic Roman Catholic metropolitan cathedral situated within the complex of the Prague Castle in the historic center of the city. With its highest tower measuring staggering 103 m (338 ft), the cathedral is one of the largest and most important Gothic churches in the country as well as in all Europe.

Changing the Guards at the Prague Castle with the St. Vitus Cathedral in the background. The ceremony takes place in the first courtyard of the castle every hour. The main ceremony is held at the noon and that is also when masses of tourists gather around to witness this interesting event.

These days, however, the Petrin Tower mainly serves as a tourist attraction with more than a half a million visitors annually.

Woow, Prague is soo beautiful👍👍👍, I couldn't unfortunately by my last visit in December 2017 enter St.Vitus Cathedral due to some restoration works. Next time for sure will visit it, this city never ceases to amaze the people, whoever had the opportunity to see it.

You got a great reason to come back :) You will not be disappointed with your visit...St Vitus is one of the most richly endowed cathedrals in central Europe!
Thanks for comment and have a nice day :)

Yeap, next time will check in advance to make sure it is open, but anyway Prague has too many places to be proud with!

fantastic light and color!!! Gorgeous capture :))
