I like ancient castles, buildings and ruins very much that's why i visit such places pretty often. On my Greece Holiday last year i visited the Castle of Methoni for some Photography in the evening. Unfortunately they closed the Castle gates already pretty early and i had to to the sunset shots from outside the Castle. I found a nice place near the harbour of Methoni where i could take these pictures of the ruin. It was a nice sunset but for my opinion it went down to far right and i couldn't catch the sund behind the Tower of Methoni.
The walls of the Castle are not directly built with the sea level so you can walk outside the wall. Picture: Florian Glechner.

I love the different colors the sunse produces when setting near the sea. Because you are at sea level and there are no hills blocking the sunrays the sun sets pretty late, and you'll have more time catching the different colors of the setting sun. I love playing with this fact, and playing with longtime exposures combined with water is also a nice thing i do regulary. These old ancient buildings fascinate me pretty much, and i am sorry we don't have so much here in Austria, there ares some of course and i already visited most of them but the Castle of Methoni is really beautiful with the combination of the sea and the old buildings.

I tried to do several longtime Exposure shots and the girlfriend i had with me was already getting nervous because it took me so long to take some shots of the Castle that late. Methoni is a venetian fortress build about thousand years B.C.
