📷 Promenade along Sochi arboretum

Arboretum, a favorite vacation spot for many tourists in Sochi. People come here to see the most exotic trees and plants, walk along the flowered alleys and admire the funny animals and birds.

In the arboretum grow more than two thousand pines (almost 80 species), but there are, of course, and larch, oaks, majestic beautiful plane trees, or as they are called strawberry trees, and these tall palm trees.

You can walk here all day, most importantly, do not get lost. How many times I come here, I always lose sight of something.

Attention quickly switches and flying thrush, or the cries of a peacock, and sometimes you feel the subtle aroma of the nearest pine grove and go there. And you find yourself on a green meadow, and already forget where to go :-)

Then I see these bright wonderful pink blossoms of the oleander, which on a green background looks terrific.

Who recognized this plant? Let's see what he's got beautiful leaves.

This shrub has broad leaves with such a creamy white border, sometimes they have spots and small strips. It seems that some artist painted the leaves with white paint.

A few more weeks and its leaves will get quite interesting shades. And this white border will surround not green, but purple middle of the leaf.

In the meantime, you can watch the ants, who have chosen cozy places on the beautiful petals of this white turf.

There are many different fountains in the arboretum, this one is called "Cupids". In hot weather, there are always a lot of people. Once these sculptures for the fountain were carried on a steamer from Kronstadt across the Atlantic ocean,the Mediterranean sea, the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles.

They were supposed to arrive in Novorossiysk, however, due to a strong storm the ship went to the Sukhumi port. And only a month later these sculptures on the watermelons were delivered to Sochi.

On the territory of the arboretum, which occupies almost 50 acres of land, grow the Chilean Palma, Iscariot hot, honey palm, jubea pistolita and the baby Yucca.

Here live and such funny water rats-nutria.

And such a beautiful Magnolia is rarely found. Pay attention to its leaves, and these cones, fruits of Magnolia (of which even make medicinal tinctures).
