RE: Asakusa - my beloved place in Tokyo
Never been to Tokyo, but to me it seems like a place where I need to go one day. I was expecting more modern places while thinking about Tokyio, but your post proved me wrong. Good to see the past stays visible even in a big city like Tokyo. Do you know the stories behind the masks?
These masks are used in theaters, rituals and festivals (matsuri) and represent people, gods, devils and other creatures. E.g. there is Kitsune (fox) mask, who is god from Fushimi Inari :)
