Gem of the day: Liquid Pavillion
This majestic structure is located in Serralves Park, Portugal. Designed by depA, a Portugal base architect firm, the design is extracted from the Museum’s layout, corresponding to one of its characteristic spaces, openings and hexagonal plan give the impression of emergence at any angle in the landscape.
Pitch-black interior will be illuminated video projector.

From a distance, the dark body of water reflect perfectly on the glass wall and making the water look infinite. although it is a manmade structure, the material selection makes the building slowly became part of the park seamlessly.
Personal impression
Pavilion used to be a standing out platform for visitor to rest or leisure activities in a gardening or park, but Liquid Pavilion display an alternative meaning for a pavilion. It stays hidden in the environment by covered with glass, and it almost give the appearance of blend into the background. Besides that, changing season will not affect the building appearance.
It will be like a chameleon that changing its body colour by mimic the background. How cool is it, a structure that will never aged!
In addition, internal video projector could make small auditorium. The setup defines the pavilion as hidden gem in the park that waiting to discover by public.
Conclusion
The purpose of the Liquid Pavillion is irreplaceable a, but the mirror façade is timeless and could be borrowed and implement in other places.
