in #archeology7 years ago

In the cemetery of the Han dynasty in the Jingbian county of the province, a robbed chamber tomb made of bricks was found, on the wall of which - a picture with a starry sky, including 28 star houses.

This is the first picture found with the image of 28 star houses, which indicated the forms of the constellations, the number of stars, schemes, and their names. At the same time, this drawing is the most complete among all drawings with similar content.

As you know, to watch the movement of the Sun, Moon and stars, the ancient Chinese divided the starry sky into 28 parts, that is, 28 star houses.

According to experts, the discovery of this figure provides valuable materials for studying the development of astronomy during the Han dynasty and familiarizing with the consciousness, customs and beliefs of the people associated with the funeral in the era of the Dong Han dynasty. In addition, the figure found is important for studying the myths in the dynasties of Dong Han, Si Han, and in the period prior to the reign of the Qin Dynasty.
