Sanliurfa museum was opened to visitors in 1969. Şanlıurfa region, which has a rich historical background, has many mounds and old settlements. 44 km from the city center. Harran is one of the most important of these, and he has collected great interest with his unique civil architecture in the plain, which he named in his Southeast.He.From the III millenniumS. XIII. it has been inhabited continuously until the century.In the area; the Atatürk Dam, Birecik dam and Kargamış Dam are located under the lake mirror.In Şanlıurfa Museum; cultural assets unearthed as a result of excavations in Harran, as well as other mounds in the region and in the old settlement areas are exhibited in chronological order and in separate display cases.

The first Hall on the entrance floor is reserved for stone works belonging to Assyrian, Babylonian and Hittite periods. In the second and third halls belonging to the archaeological section; Neolithic period (M.He. 8000-5000) lighter stone cutting tools, perforators, stone idols and vessels; Chalcolithic circuit (M.He.Ceramics with painted and unpainted geometric patterns, seals, burial pithos, necklaces made of baked clay; pithos made of faience; and Bronze Age (M. ö.He. 3000-2000) and various works such as stamp seals, cylinder and stamp seals, figurine vessel fragments, animal figurines, metal items, jewelry and idols are exhibited from the baked clay. In the ethnographic works section; there are clothes bearing the characteristics of the region, silver and bronze jewelry, examples of Handicrafts, wooden doors with carved inscriptions peculiar to the region and Windows wings, works belonging to the line art, manuscripts of the Koran-I kims.

In the garden of Şanlıurfa Museum, the archaeological works are exhibited in chronological order. On the front façade, there is a mosaic pool with animal depictions on display.
