BGP Intensifies Persecution in Northern Buthidaung

Buthidaung: Northern Buthidaung Townships have been the next lucrative destination for Burmese government’s genocidal operation after evacuating the entire Maungdaw Township, report locals from the area on 30th May 2018.

Rohingya have been long deprived of healthcare services since the military junta. For which outbreak of disease like hepatitis C and other infectious diseases are forcing the common Rohingya in Buthidaung to travel towards the neighboring Bangladesh.

In different village tracks of northern Buthidaung Township Rohingya returning from Bangladesh after their treatment are accused with various accusation and are either arrested or forced to pay money.

Similar cases have been heard from other returning Rohingya, whom fled military persecution since 25th August 2017. Such returning Rohingya are reported to be arrested arbitrarily and are kept incommunicado.

Local's report confirms that up to date Rohingya are still targeted for arbitrary arrest and are enforced to accept the illegal National verification Card (NVC), which are issued to foreigners.

Earlier reports on the same day explores forced labor in Mingisi (Mee Chaung Zay) and Tongbazaar (Nga Yant Chaung) areas, where forces from battalion no.552 are forcing the locals to do so.

Due to immense harassment, persecution, arbitrary arrest and mass money extortion more Rohingya are forced to travel towards Bangladesh.

Burmese forces' tremendous level of persecution and torture have forced more than 800, 000 Rohingya to travel towards neighboring Bangladesh, where residing in squalid and inhumane camps became their fate.
