According to researchers, cannabis users were the most likely to have schizophrenia. This genetic study seems to be the largest study to date on the use of cannabis. Scientists analyzed data from customers using the 23andMe DNA Test Kit. They also used data from the United Kingdom (Biobank) and 16 other study centers. The CADM2 gene, the most associated with cannabis Researchers have identified 35 different genes associated with cannabis use, but the gene with the most connection to cannabis is referred to as CADM2. According to Professor Jacqueline Vink, the lead author of the study, the CADM2 gene is associated with people with risky behaviors and personality. During the study, researchers examined more than a million genetic variants that, when put together, accounted for about 11% of differences in cannabis use. One of the biggest correlations between them is the genetic link between cannabis use and schizophrenia.
