My guess is the "success", of which you spoke in your post, uses the same metrics as the platform's SPs and Reputation Score. It seems a little like comparing one's success in life to wealth amassed and how large their reputation is/was in society.

Whether one is developing relationships with whales or plankton, one is still developing relationships in the community, in my opinion.
