(Takhtrawan) the oldest means of Arab transportations

«Takhtrawan» Persian word compound from two parts: Takht which means the bed and rawan which means movable , so it means the movable bed that is carried by two camels from the front and two from the back , four camels, and sometimes it is placed by two camels only, through special stand made of two elaborately stretched templates so that the person can stretch or sit comfortably.

The takhtrawan was used for the wedding of the bride in several eras and continued until the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and also its a part of the twentieth century in some Islamic countries such as Egypt. It is made of arabesque wood with its fillings of vase and white ivory, and its walls carved in great geometric shapes and patterns.
