What Is RAMADAN? : ماهو رمضان؟

You probably heard recently a word RAMADAN in one of the posts in our community and said what these people are talking about, any way this is an opportunity to let you know more about RAMADAN and what it means to us as Muslims.

First of all, the pillars of Islam are five:

1-Testimonies: Testimony that there is no God but Allah, and a testimony that Muhammad is the Messenger of God.

2-Prayer: Five prayers per day.

3-Paying the alms (Zakaat).

4-Fasting of Ramadan.

5-The pilgrimage, the house of God, who is able to do so.

Fasting RAMADAN is what we are going to talk about it is the ninth month in the Islamic calendar, which is a special month to Muslims where they refrain from drinking and eating and all the stuff that cause ruining their fasting such as sexual intercourse from dawn to sunset of the sun. A number of traditions are associated with this great month, including Taraweeh prayers and seclusion at mosques in the last ten days of it, also known as the month of mercy and forgiveness, where the doors of Paradise open and close the doors of hell and chain devils.

Moreover, God allocated this month by descending the Quran on his Prophet Muhammad Peace be upon him, also we change our habits, we learn patience, purify ourselves of hatred and rancor, and break the lusts of the soul, not to mention the health benefits of fasting most importantly relax the digestive system, strengthen the immune system and rid the body of toxins and dead cells that cause cancer.

"Fasting for a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey during them - then an equal number of days are to be made up. And upon those who are able to fast, but with hardship - a ransom as substitute of feeding a poor person each day. And whoever volunteers excess - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew." The Cow, Ayah 184.

ربما مؤخرا سمعتم بمصطلح رمضان في أحد مقالات الإخوة وقلتم ما الذي يتحدث عنه هؤلاء، المهم هذه فرصة لأعرفكم أكثر على رمضان وما يعنيه لنا كمسلمين.

أولا وقبل كل شيء أركان الإسلام خمسة:

الشهادتان: شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله، وشهادة أن محمداً رسول الله.

إقام الصلاة : وهي خمس صلوات في اليوم.

إيتاء الزكاة.

صوم شهر رمضان.

حج بيت الله من استطاع إليه سبيلا.

صوم شهر رمضان هو ما بهمنا اليوم فرمضان هو الشهر التاسع في التقويم الهجري وهو شهر مميز عند المسلمين يمتنعون فيه عن الشرب و الأكل و كل مسببات الإفطار كالجماع من الفجر حثي مغرب الشمس.كما ترتبط مجموعة من التقاليد بهذا الشهر العظيم نذكر منها صلاة التراويح و الاعتكاف بالمساجد في العشر الأواخر منه، و يعرف أيضا بشهر الرحمة و الغفران إذ تفتح أبواب الجنة و تغلق أبواب جهنم وتصفد فيه الشياطين.

زد على ذلك أن الله خص هذا الشهر بتنزيله القرآن على نبيه محمد صلى الله عليه وسلم ،كما تتغير عاداتنا ونتعلم الصبر وتطهر أنفسنا من الغل و الحقد ونكسر شهوات النفس ناهيك عن الفوائد الصحية للصوم أهمها إراحة الجهاز الهضمي و تقوية جهاز المناعة وتخليص الجسم من السموم و الخلايا الميتة المسببة للسرطان.

"أَيَّامًا مَعْدُودَاتٍ ۚ فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْكُمْ مَرِيضًا أَوْ عَلَىٰ سَفَرٍ فَعِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَيَّامٍ أُخَرَ ۚ وَعَلَى الَّذِينَ يُطِيقُونَهُ فِدْيَةٌ طَعَامُ مِسْكِينٍ ۖ فَمَنْ تَطَوَّعَ خَيْرًا فَهُوَ خَيْرٌ لَهُ ۚ وَأَنْ تَصُومُوا خَيْرٌ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ" البقرة،الآية 184.
