Aquarium Newbie Horror
Hi Steemer and Aquaristic Fans!
I have recently build my aquarium stand, my LED light and set up my aquarium.
I wanted to do some kind of oxygen free aquascape. Worked fine.
After two to three weeks running the aquarium some kind of algae took over!?
It started like this
and I thought maybe the lighting time was too long. That wasn't the case.
I got the rootwood from a local aquaristic store, just watered it and put it in. Later on I red that you should cook the wood before using it to clear of any bakteria.
Today I cleaned the aquarium and tried to get out most of the algae. It looks somehow OK
but not totally clean.
Should I put everything out, cook the wood, clean everything and start new? I am afraid that the remaining algae will continue to grow cause there is algae remaining even in the tubes . Spent about 100 bugs just for the stones wood and plants and i am still not able to put some small fish in there. Any suggestions? All help appreciated !!
