A prank I suffered from a co-worker (supervisor)

in #aprilfoolscontest7 years ago

I remember when the pranks were to put salt to the coffee or inviting you to a party and when you arrived with your best suit there was no party. Nowadays in my country -Venezuela- pranks and jokes are often linked to the political sphere, and I was a victim of a cruel workermate. I tell you how:
Last couple of years there has been a serious deficit of electric power, and since 2016 the national government has taken the decision to carry out a strong energy shortage and reduction of working hours. This year, apart from the electric generation problem, there is a strong transportation deficit and increasing inflation that makes the price of public transport and parking climb by day, making unaffordable to go out whenyou compare prices with the salary of Venezuelans.
So, people are waiting that the Government announces as they did the last two years, that we will work just half of the week in the offices, and the rest of the time we have to send reports of work via email. So, I supervisor on our job, a highly respected and a very serious erson, decided to make a prank and sent a voicenote in which you can listen to the President announcing the long-awaited reduction of the working hours, stablishing a period of two months that will be a three-days weekend.
I felt very happy and I started to make plans to increase my income in that extra time, or use it to do things that usually I couldn't because of the times... but you will imagine that my happyness had a short life. My supervisor sent this voicenote knowingly it was the real... back in 2016.
