Apple's HomePod Delayed Until Early 2018
Apple announced today it has pushed the release date of HomePod speaker until early 2018. In the statement provided to the media, Apple said they need little more time before it's ready. Similar statement also used by Apple last year for the AirPods. HomePod was unveiled at WWDC in June and set to be released in December with the price of $349.
We can’t wait for people to experience HomePod, Apple’s breakthrough wireless speaker for the home, but we need a little more time before it’s ready for our customers. We’ll start shipping in the US, UK, and Australia in early 2018.
Apple's definition of "early" means HomePod will be shipped within the period from January to April. Even if Apple was not shared a specific reason of this delay, it is possibly because of AirPlay 2 integration to its speakers.
