White Island
White Island, Camiguin, Philippines
White Island is a horseshoe-shaped sandbar located at the north of Mambajao's shoreline. There's no shelter in the island as it is only composed of white sands, but there are big umbrellas for rent if you don't want to be exposed. To avoid the blistering heat of the sun, it would advisable to go to the island early in the morning.
Facing south is the panoramic view of Mt. Hibok-Hibok, a stratovolcano that we climbed as shared in my previous posts.
White Island is just 1.4 kilometers from the main island and is accessible by small boats that are available for rent. Just be warned that the island is iconic in Camiguin that tourists flock the area especially during weekends.
The island is recognizable even if you're still on the plane during take off or landing Camiguin Airport.
If you're planning to visit the island, make sure to bring enough water and sunblock.
