I've been keeping an eye on news coming out of Paris. One of the Gilets Jaunes demands is to stop the planned obsolescence of products by mandating a 10 year guarantee. I'm trying to be more mindful of the tech purchases I make because this is something that bothers me greatly, I don't like the fact that items that have served their use end up in a landfill because they're difficult to recycle and not cost-effective to repair or upgrade.

I was really looking forward to Google's modular phone for this very reason, it's a huge shame that they scrapped the project.
